N’Kenge, a rising star taking on the radio scene by storm, is notable both for her vocal range, versatility and stage presence. Originally from Bronx, NY, N’Kenge has performed internationally in opera, recital, musical theater, jazz, and pop and shares these experiences with her listeners all over the world. N’Kenge made her West End, London debut starring in The Genius of Ray Charles at the Royal Haymarket Theater and sang in the world premiere of Marion Caffey's 3 Mo'Divas where she received the prestigious Helen Hayes Nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical.
N’Kenge sang the leading role in Elton John and Tim Rice’s musical Aida where she received a nomination for Best Actress from the Arizoni Theater Awards, and made her debut with the Little Orchestra Society in Naughty Marietta at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. N’Kenge has been a soloist with prestigious symphonies and opera companies such as New York City Opera, New Jersey Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Baltimore Symphony and Ranana in Israel to name a few.
N’Kenge sings in 10 languages and in about 7 styles of music where she has won a string of competitions ranging from the Lena Horne Vocal competition, the ASCAP Lieber and Stoller Award to the Leontyne Price Vocal Competition and the McAllister Classical Voice Competition which was televised on PBS.
N’Kenge has sung for Secretary General Kofi Annan for the United Nations Visionary Awards and Colin Powell when he was honored by the George C. Marshall Foundation. She was a featured soloist in a live broadcast worldwide from the Library of Congress, has headlined the Children’s Defense Fund Gala and has made solo appearances at the White House (Clinton Administration), The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall and has sung the National Anthem multiple times for the Mets at Shea Stadium.
As N’Kenge continues her active career, she bring a new aspect to her radio shows on Misc Radio Plus with her exclusive interviews and airing live shows from the Big Apple to exotic cities like Monte Carlo. Listeners will travel the world and become apart of N’Kenge’s life and experiences.
